Job Description

Frijns Middle East is recruiting for a Tender Estimator to join our growing team in Mesaieed, Qatar. This is a full-time office-based role with occasional site visits.

The Tender Estimator is responsible for will be responsible for preparing competitive and accurate cost estimates for fabrication projects, including structural steel, piping, platforms, and miscellaneous metal works for infrastructure, architectural and industrial projects. the successful candidate will analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates under supervision of Tendering Manager.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Participate in bid preparation process including technical, commercial, and contractual components.
• Prepare cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment in coordination with engineering and procurement teams.
• Support the tendering manager with internal tender review meetings and obtain necessary approvals before submission.
• Review tender documents, specifications, drawings, and contract terms for fabrication projects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates including material, labour, equipment, subcontractors, and overheads.
• Prepare technical and commercial tender submissions in compliance with client requirements and templates
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
• Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings and site visits,
• Work closely with the engineering and project management teams to ensure estimates are aligned with production capabilities.
• Track and maintain records of tenders submitted and follow up on outcomes.
• Update internal cost databases and historical pricing to support future estimates and benchmarking.
• Ensure all estimates comply with company policies, procedures, and QHSE standards.

Skills and Qualifications

• University degree preferably Bachelor’s degree in • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years relevant experience preferably in a steel fabrication or construction environment
• Knowledge of industrial and infrastructure steel construction is essential.
• Self-motivated/Self-directed.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• High proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Always act ethically and with the utmost integrity
• Strong work ethics, be able to work under pressure and with different priorities
